Oiling wood boat interior

Question 2 on boat finishing... Have read on this forum regarding oiling the interior of a wooden boat (skiff, row boat, dory etc). What oil/oils are recommended?? Linseed??raw,boiled?? brush, roller or ragged on? Will this work on double A grade marine doug fir plywood or does it have to be CPES and paint like the exterior? I like the description of the darkening wood over time and oil applications. Does this offer good protection over time?
