Well, as you can see, we went to Pemaquid Pt in Maine this weekend and there is no visible change with Phoenix. I have, however cut the studs to length for the other knee wall, and hopefully I'll be able to get the stone dust ordered and delivered. (The only guy in town who'll deliver small loads was on vacation this past week.)

We DID however, notice a CHANGE up at Pemaquid. We've not visited with our friends up there for the past two years as they'd been having some health issues, but the last time we were at Pemaquid, walking the shoreline was rewarded (perhaps there is a better term) with lots of sea-urchin shells or remenants thereof. This time not one. Not even a fragment.

Goal for next picture: the other wall up and arches in place.

Ed you are tying up the most bandwitdh for nohting. I really don't care and no one else wishes to see the same worn out boat. The thread of Misc decline fits you to the tee. Start spendng some money and do something or you will be labeled as a typical blow boater.

Thanks Ed. Subtle changes add up. Your series will be fun to look back on when suddenly major changes begin to occur. Keep it up. Too bad more of us arn't doing this.

Best.

Ed,

As always, thanks for the update.

Bandwidth well-spent, IMHO. Your steady progress will get the job done in short order. I think I speak for many of us who enjoy being connected electronically to your effort. http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/smile.gif

Best,

Wayne

I'm not sure whether Bateau Boy's comment was meant to be tongue-in-cheek or not. (Couldn't see his face properly from here.) But I certainly agree with Norm and Wayne, Ed. Please keep it up, once a week if you can.

Ed, don't mind Bat'Boy. He must be off his med's again http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/biggrin.gif The rest of us enjoy seeing the progress. Those who don't may skip the thread.

Ed,

Democracy rules and from what I can tally, you are good to go and keep the updates coming. This is well within the realm of Building and Repair; and as everyone knows you have to prep the job properly to do the job right.

At the same time we have to admit, you have been hamstringed with delays and mishaps. The Plague of Jonah has visited you long enough, what with wasps and weather. Forge on and know we are pullin' for ya.

LB.

If you didn't see any sea urchin bits and pieces in our fine state this time, then the prison crews have done their jobs well. Three strikes and your out...on the beach.

Ed - You can use my bandwidth any time http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/smile.gif

Norm - I think (hope) we're all pretty good about taking pictures, it's just the extra time and dedication to get them posted where you and Ed have excelled.

Ed - Right topic in the right spot, keep the updates coming. I look forward to them each week! (We should all be so lucky.)

Ed -- I hope BB was joking. Whenever I see your "status check" I always think how generous it is of you to take the time to do this.

Hm. Ditto almost everyone else's comments.

The urchins. I wonder if they've been dived out? When I last lived down that way the Japanese sushi market was just making hot and heavy whoopi over Maine sea urchin roe. Now, with fancy sushi almost as popular as three dollar cups of coffee here in the U.S...I wonder.

Ed,
Finally got the Forum to accept me. I am no longer a "lurker"

Keep the pictures coming. I've got plenty of bandwidth !!

On vacation the 18th thru 26th of August. Contact me via email if I can be of any assistance getting the "cover" up.

To Ismaels theory on the sea urchins, I saw none other than Martha Stewart in a program the other night about sea urchin divers in Maine. The Japanese are the largest market, payng 1.10 per pound on that day.

Regards,
MK

Became curious about the missing urchins. According to one Maine supplier's web site urchins--while not "fished out"--have become much less abundant. Divers used to dive just offshore for them, but now have to go four miles out. Even there, the yields are down. Sushi madness! I love sushi, when I can afford it, but don't think I've ever tried the the sea urchin row. This supplier also said urchins are currently out of season.

Okay enough. I was using reverse phsycology and I know it is not spelled right. I was really hoping you would finally show us the hunk of wood under sail. I am sure tired of the boat yard post. I have lived in one for more years than I will care to tell about. PEACE BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

LOL, and by the time I got here I had worked up to the perfect retort http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/smile.gif... I spent today at a customer, and when I got home there was a pile of stone dust waiting for me, so between raindrops and mosquitoes I've been busy.

Ed, tell Bat Boy that it'll sail when it's ready. I had a guy tell me years ago to "just slap some paint on it and throw it in the water". I threw him overboard.... http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/biggrin.gif right then. Yeah, there was about seven feet of 'freeboard'.

Personally, I'd like to see these as a movie once you're finished, but it might be hard to do these updates once the shed is complete.

Update will be posted tomorrow (T1 line). I think you're going to like it (Well, most of you will like it http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/rolleyes.gif )

Ah ha! My suspicions have been confirmed. I suspected as much when reading the political comments in Miscellaneous. BateauBoy is the forum's satirist supreme.
