The boat has been righted and the scraping and sanding has started.

Pretty little thing.
I love boats at this stage of construction.

How much is left in that Molson's keg in the background?

Sad to say there are several empty ones around. It gets extremely dry here in the winter and my doctor says I must stay hydrated.

What do they put in that stuff, it tastes like aspartame!

Surely you can do better than that! :D

Very nice! I have a very special regard for this design as it was the first boat that I'd ever built.

Back in '96 it was the "Acorn Tender" and "Wren" before that. I've thought about building a longer version, which would just be a Puffin, I suppose.

Yeah - me too. I actually have a picture of a Great Auk in a photo album somewhere... Its one of only two mounted specimens that remain... in the museum at Trinity College Dublin - collected by Dad's Uncle who was Prof of Biology there a long time ago.

Well, she's turned out really nice! I like the dark hull and light interior, not a combination I'd have thought of doing but very effective. Tell me about that nifty trailer.

It is a personal watercraft trailer, which is just the right size.

Tell me you set fire to the personal watercraft.
I want to see detailed pics of the interior when finished, please.

Looks great, congrats on getting the keel wet. The daggerboard tells me that it will have a sail. Don't see any oarlocks though - Please say that you won't be hanging an outboard off the transom!

Nice build

Isn't an AUK Some vile creature from Tolkien s Lord of the Rings?

I think you should change the name far too pretty to be an AUK.

Auks are seabirds. Here's a pic. Cute little things.
