Please bear with me. I need to brag about my son just a little.

Stepdaughter's car has a slow leak at the rim on one of her back tires, so I had to pull it off to drop it off at the local tire place in the morning to be repaired.

My son has been very concerned about the back problems I have been having the last few months, and tries to do whatever he can to help me. When he found out what I had to do, he volunteered to it for me.

He did almost everything himself. He set the chocks at the front wheels, got out the impact wrench and sockets, and dragged the jack out. He asked me to set the jack for him "in the right place". He found the right size socket, put it on the impact wrench and loosened the lug nuts. He also knew to just loosen them and not take them all the way off. He jacked the car up himself and took the lug nuts the rest of the way off. He asked for help taking the rim off, but that was it. Since he knew the car was not having the spare put on, he went to get a jack stand on his own accord, and asked me to set it for him. once it was set, he lowered the jack and set the car on the jack stand.

All done with almost no assistance from Dad. I was a couple feet away, and made sure the chocks were set properly, the jack was safe, etc.

Not bad for 6 1/2. :)

I have more pics, but won't post them since I don't want to show his face on an internet forum.

Good for him even noticing anything about changing a tire, much less that you're not feeling perfect in the back! Good kid. I bet he had the smile of a century while he was doing all that!
