Help!

I'm trying to find an insurer for Mercury here in FL.

I know I'm not the only guy in FL dealing with this, and would be curious (other than the self insurance or no insurance route) to know who you are using.

Thanks in advance.

When I was in FL I had our 32' homebuilt ply & fiberglass sailboat insured by Florida Hiway and Marine - their site is http://www.fhmii.com/. It has been a few years, but it looks like they're still in the business. No complaints, but I never had a claim so I don't have any experience from that end.

Allstate covered Sarah. Even in the "project" stage(s). :)

The Allstate policy is at a point where I need a survey to increase the coverage limits, and since I'm getting a survey, I should take that opportunity to shop for coverage.

I need to shop around though. Have put it off... well... because...

Did you already have Allstate on your home/cars? I'd heard that you couldn't get Allstate on a wooden boat...so trying to figure that one out:confused:

We had a car policy with them for sure. I kindof thought (and may have mistakenly posted here before) that we added the boat to the house policy, but as I was replying above I realized we owned SARAH two years before we bought the house.

Honestly I don't remember. This July will make nine years since we bought her. Dave always handled the insurance, and I honestly don't remember. :(

I do know that they have been good. We had to have a survey to start, but they insured her for $25k when just was just a pile of tarp covered pieces in the boatyard and upped the coverage to $45k on just a phone call from me.

They're at a point now though that I have to have a new survey, and I'm definitely under insured

I really need to make this a priority... :o
