I went up to have a look at her. The PCC's are certainly very elegant vessels. I didn't buy this one, although someone will certainly score a project with the potential for a truly beautiful end result.
The ice damage will require replacing 6-12 planks, depending on how you feel about the parallel concepts of luck and risk. Some of the damage extended 3/4" deep into what I believe are 1" planks. Plus the usual old, neglected wooden boat stuff, many cracked ribs, and some truly poor sistering work done by a yard under a prior owner. The seller is both forthright and sincere about the boat. He seemed like a good guy.

On the other hand, you could give it the touch and go treatment and sail it for 5 years before inertia catches up with you.
