The starboard rabbet is nearly complete, tho just roughly. The darker surfaces still have the sealing coating of shellac on them. I'll shellac it again when I'm done for the day.

I don't know who's anticipated this the most, the plane or me. Sweet.

Checking the results; the two faces of the rabbet should be square to each other. The 'fid' represents a plank, and should fit tight to the rabbet line (top right corner of the fid), bearding line (top left corner of keel), and the 'apex' of the two faces.

Very nice, Ed. Holler when you need help lifting that baby into place. :)

Yup. It's just a toothpick compared to its former self. Chuckie could lift it with his little finger. ;) I'll keep you in mind, Steven, tho I don't think you need to be concerned until after the Maine BBS at the rate I work (or don't, as the case may be).

Well, I can't speak for you, but it suits me to a 'T' ;)

New planes, new clamps, new level, what gives?
Bet you've got a new tool belt on as well.:D

I'll be the serious one here. It looks really sharp, Ed. What a nice, smooth, clean incision you've made! Nice looking tools, too!

Hmmm, the newest stuff are the 12" Jorgies - I augmented my collection sometime last year. The wood Jorgies were my Grandfather's. That sortof 'bookends' the lot.
The level was purchased in year one of the addition project, and that's (the project in case there is any doubt) now in its 24th year. THE PLANE has been awaiting in anticipation for at least three years. As for tool belt - Nope, don't got one. The nearest thing I've got to a tool belt is my holster - two (Tho I think I gave one away) for hammers, none for Rugers.
The aft portion of the starboard side is now 'done*' as far forward as possible, the forward portion is 'done*' as far aft as possible, but 'possible' remains a bit of a conundrum... *the rabbet stops at each end, the aft end by design, the forward awaiting the forefoot. I don't have a bullnose plane, so each end awaits a bit more attention.
The port side is roughed the length, but still needs to be finished via plane.
As for sharp, the angelique takes a very 'crisp' edge. DAMHIKT. I tend to wear gloves, now. "Incision", yes, that describes it quite well...

IIRC, this was to have been a 5-year project. IIRC, it began about 2001. :D
Making good progress, the way I see it. ;)
