I just had an email from the owner - he's dropped the price to $6500....
Maybe it's just an error in the photo but the sheer looks as flat as a pancake! What's happened to this boat I wonder? Rick

the current owner seems to be a bit "handy" and really didn't know much about the provenance of the boat...unfortunately?, these combined with the location scared me away....

What's the matter with the location?
Yo, this is a "finished" restoration guys. Belongs to a friend of mine so I've done some trips and some haulouts on the boat: she's sound and seriously seaworthy. There's nothing wrong with her, dude just wants to move up from 5'3" headroom - he's living aboard.
I'm actually looking down the dock at her as I type this, and there's nothing wrong with the sheer (without insulting the whole folkboat class ;)).

He has updated the ad with more inventory.
Built mid 50's on the great lakes.
Has 2cyl Vetus eng. (Deisel)
Force 10 kerosene stove.
Dickinson solid fuel stove.
I'm not that nuts about Folkboats but this one is becoming tempting.
(P.S. Thanks for the personal post James.)

For sure. If there's any info I can get for anybody, just let me know and I can look or ask. This really isn't my boat (I swear!), but I'm stoked to get her sold so we can begin restoration work on the Cresset. Coincidentally I'm actually sitting next to the woodstove in the folkboat with a laptop, and we're running out of firewood!

Hey James, what's the latest on the Cresset? This is of some interest to a lot of people on the forum.

Details on the Cresset along with many pictures of her current condition as well as the restoration process will be made available online once the restoration begins properly. Right now the whole thing hinges on selling this folkboat so the financial side becomes possible.
