The Church of the Holey Wooden Boat 'annex' has exhibited a certain adherence to the physics of winter.

It would seem that the strain of your rafters exceeded the elastic limit.
hope nothing got busted too bad underneath.

Is that a shed? Or a tarp version of a dumpster? Hard to tell from here!

G'morning, Steven.
Fortunately, the 10' pulling skiff and the F***gls gaffer weren't.
There's a beetlecat, a Gardener pram, and the worlds ugliest sailing dinghy, some oars, and shop stock, along with the usual accumulation of junk. The 2x4 collar ties let go, I see one broken in half

Jeez, Nicholas. Have some coffee, OK?
Looks like nothing that can't be fixed (or in the cat boats case, returned to original specs, they can never be fixed).
Looks like you've got your day planned, maybe include it in the home schooling (in fact that may be what the "entropy" reference may be about ; "Kids, today we learn about the difference between entropy and enthalpy, here's your shovel")

Oh crap! Hopefully the roof landed on enough stuff to cushion the fall and not damage the boats.
You can call it entropy or enthalpy or whatever. I call it a lot of damn snow ready (potential mechanical energy) to fall athwartship any minute on top of an unlucky shoveler. Those side walls don't appear to meet building code! Best to wait for mud season.
A home collapsed yesterday under snow load near here. Thankfully under renovation and no one hurt.
Hope you can salvage the boats Hugh.

I guess i'd better get down to the boatyard to check the cover.

Ouch. Thanks for the reminder to check on the little frozen snot boat when I get home.

The shed behind it is a Stimson shed - Bow roof - and sheds the snow very well. I should just extend it a few frames.

No time for that, you've got a cruise to attend in August.
Jamie from the south, you from the north. I'm not taking bets...... yet.
