Hi Everyone,
I've just about hit the two year anniversary of the start of contruction of my runabout.
Now - the spookiest day of its life - Flipping the hull.
I have the bottom done, and a coat or two of varnish to be sprayed on in the next couple of days.

Here is the cradle - I will have stretchers between the sections in a day or two.

I finally figured out HVLP spraying - this is SO much better than brushing. The varnish is going on to protect the epoxy at this point. When the boat is done - it will get many many coats.

The plan is to roll the hull into the driveway (it is on wheels). Then flip it onto mattresses (going to try to get some trash ones from a mattress store - my next item of the week).
Finally - lift it onto the cradle and roll it back in.
Sound good?
A few notes:
I left the edge of the sheerstrake long so it could be faired down later - it is fragile - when flipping, we have to try not to crush it - easier said than done I'm sure. If you have gloves... I know I don't have enough to go around
My house is in Billerica, MA. I'm 15 minutes off of Rt. 128, Rt 495 and Rt. 3 depending on the direction you would come from.
Please let me know if you can help - Sunday may be short notice for many - I can adjust to a week later if I can't get enough hands. My guess is the hull is somewhere in the 600-800 Lb range..
I'll send all the other information necessary to those who contact me: bperkins@yahoo.com
I'm thinking about 9:30AM so as not to cut into your day too much smile.gif
Thanks,
Bob
