I have taken delivery of a cast bronze gooseneck and wonder about the amount of play between the forked section, that attaches to the boom, and the tack / downhall casting that will slide on a short piece of heavy track. It seems the pin is too small but maybe there is supposed to be some slack there to allow for a twisting action on the boom. Spruce spars, 333 sq ft main, 20,000 lb disp. I can simply use a larger pin but would this be counterproductive?
