Anybody know of some plans for one of these monsters? My service club may try to have dragon boat races for a fund raiser. We need a couple boats first. Plywood construction would probably be easiest and most economical.

I meant 20 man paddle boat.

In the UK the British Dragon Boat racing Association organise taster days - our canoe club hosted one and about a dozen local clubs (football rugby etc) turned out for a day's fun racing.

There might be something similar where you are.

Longer - paddled with two paddlers per bench, plus drummer and steersman.
Usually transported broken into three parts (plus head and drum).

Awesome speed - and very poor brakes.

If you want to compete - please make sure you have a class legal boat

Andrew, I have a design for a 20-man Dragon Boat. I am unable to tell you about it here because that would be advertising my wares and therefore conravene the self-promotion bans of the WBF. Contact me at mmason1@bwr.eastlink.ca if you are interested in finding out more.
