There's a couple of nice folks who advertise in Woodenboat...Ed Rich, The Bean Hill Whitler is one that comes to mind as are a couple of others, been there a long time...good reps.

Teak ? Many good uses - not used much for decorative carving. If you do ask for a quote in teak, also ask for the same job in mahog.
See WB # 140, Jan/Feb 1998, p50, article by Peter Spectre to see how easy it would be to do your own. ;) (there is a source mentioned in the article).

Here is an example of the type of work I do. Please drop me an email, and I would be glad to give you a design / price. I agree that teak would be too tough, and I believe that mahogany would do beautifully. I plan on carving and gilding the mahogany transom on my daysailer over the winter.
