I've noticed I'm not the only one from Sweden. Where are the rest of you Swedes from?
I sail out of Björlanda Kile, but I live on the inland side of Göta Älv, north of Gothenburg.

Live in Mölndal south of Göteborg.

Mizzenman, are you by any chance building a strip-planked keelboat daysailer in an apartment in Arendal?

No thats not me, I'm building a 18 fot skif on the second floor of a garage.
I think I read about that project on fendern.se . A long narrow bulbkeeled thing?
I se you have had the foresight to setle close to a big harbour!

I've considered Sweden as a place I'd like to end up. Awesome boats, attractive women, and from what I've heard a good government.

I see another pox-ridden and worn down GRP yacht from the 70s I think I'm going to be sick. We need more wooden boaters here! ;)

What Michael said. My grandparents came over in the teens. I've been back several times. It's all true, although some of the family have now lost jobs due to the economic crisis.
My daughter, who is a knock out, is married to a Swede, by way of Minnesota. Funny, she their two kids look more like Swedes than he does, and she is 3/4 German. Must be some Viking ancestors back there some place.

I'm half Swedish and half Norwegian. Grandparents came over in late 1800's. One from Blaking, one from Bergen. I've been to Blaking, but not yet to Bergen.
Im Swedish on my mothers side, her parents were Anderson and Carlson.
My father was born in Germany though.
Looking at that picture above I would say Sweden looks like one mighty fine place :)

Grandpa was from Jokkmokk and was twice the Swedish long distance (100Km?) cross-country ski champion. My uncle still has his silver cup!
