I'm building a small trawler and want to paint her in some low gloss, old-timey colors. I've been trying to get a Kirby color chart. Kirby doesn't have them nor does Jamestown Distributors. Anybody know where I can get or borrow one?

Have you tried your local Boaters World or West Marine? We always had them in-store.

Here's an online color chart from Kirby's to atleast get an idea what they have. It would still be a good idea to get a color card from them in the mail though..

Yeah--NEVER trust the colors on your computer unless you've color-calibrated it.

Check out Doug Hylan's article in Woodenboat about paints, their selection and mixing. It will save you $$.

I used a lot of Kirbys paint on my boat and I'm going to repaint soon with something else.
FWIW
Dave, would you know in which issue the article can be found?

Jim, I used Kirbys on my last project and found it to be the nicest paint I have worked with. Why are you going to "something else"?
