NCIS boat

Does anyone know the name of the design of the wooden boat that Mark Hartman.' character "Jethro Gibbs" is building on the TV show NCIS? Just curious, looks like a lovely craft.

He's on his forth one on the show. Mark Harmon uses mostly all his own tools though I don't know if he builds boats has a hobby.

He seems to be building it in his basement, but I've yet to see a door big enough for him to get a boat that size through.

I watched a NCIS marathon over the holidays. An episode had a crash scene of the asisstant's (Tony) fiberglass car. Jethro's response was, "... it's not good for boats either."

I thought the one I saw him building last he was naming "Kelly" , after his daughter.

I have been expecting this boat to be "Caitlin" or "Kate", after the character Caitlin "Kate" Todd, who died in the season 2 finale.

NCIS can be seen on www.hulu.com. Does someone know which episodes have boat construction scenes? I havn't watched it that much so I only saw a glimpse of it at the end of one of them.

There is very little actual boat construction shown. A bit of sanding on the frames in one episode.

Every once in a while we see him doing something on it, but only for seconds. Other people have been in the shop, the boat is rarely mentioned, and it's rare that anyone does anything to the boat while they are there. A couple of people have been handed sandpaper, or a plane, but that's about all.

My wife is hooked on that show so I watch it occasionally. One thing I've noticed when they show him working down there is that its way too dark. All you really see are shadows of the boat and even if he is working on the boat there is almost no light. I'm sure its for the dramatic effect or something but not too practical...
