Hello - New to forum...Interested in plans for the Tirrik, and other Oughtred designs as well. Is there a U.S. supplier I can go to? Have found plans on web, but so far all I've found are overseas suppliers...Thanx, Eric

Please just order from Iain. he gets the full amount from the sale, you get personal help and the latest set of plans. No brainer. He's really nice to talk to and very helpful.

There's an entire forum dedicated to just Oughtred's designs here:
http://www.mavc2002.com/cyforum/index.php?sid=06b79989193ce1024b0cfc146a4a4c1d

You'll probably find all you ever needed to know there. Best source for all of Oughtred's most recent plans and updated sets of plans online is at http://www.classicmarine.co.uk/boatlists/ionames.htm

Or you write directly to the man himself in Scotland--he doesn't have a computer.

Get a copy of Iain Oughtred's Design Catalogue, available from Wooden Boat Store. You can spend a lot of pleasant hours mulling over the designs in that book.

Thanx Al - Have to confess I never built a boat before, but I'm just a generation away from the Frisian Islands on my Mom's side & the Baltic on my Dad's, & I was told every Dane is obliged to build his own boat & sail it at least once before he dies. I was involved in aviation a long time (Sailplanes) and was around for a lot of Homebuilding projects, and had a casual apprenticeship with a crusty old German Gunsmith who did a lot of Pennsylvania Rifle stuff. Plus, my current line of work has allowed me to build a relationship with a couple of premier Cabinet makers who can take rough logs from the Amish and do whatever you want - so I think I just might go for it...Eric
