Putting together travel plans. I will buy a vehicle in Pennsylvania.
Head to Kentucky to see my BIL and his family. Then to Nevada and California to visit some friends and ORCA...

I think we will take Hwy 50 from Colorado to Nevada and California. (50 is famous for being "America's Loneliest Road.)

We have no set route across the country yet. I prefer smaller roads to freeways and we are pretty flexible to make some detours.

After ORCA, we will visit N.E corner of California by the Nevada and Oregon border. Then go North through Oregon and Washington to British Colombia.

Will stop in Dawson City, BC and plan to visit Ian and his Family before the long 1400 mile leg of the journey on the AlCan Hwy.

Then we head through Tok to Anchorage and the last 250 miles from there to home...

If you like to meet with us, let me know and we'll see how we can fit a meeting into our route...

Looking forward to hearing from you... :):D

That would be nice . I'm in the northeast so if there is an EBS in the area it may be possible. Maybe Margo can get Chez Lefties for an evening. That is if you arrive in eastern PA. (it is a pretty long state). When do you arrive? Dan L

Well... Kentucky is still a bit of a hike from here, but I'm certainly open to suggestions.

The moving company will be here on January 7th. How soon after that we actually leave, depends on what still needs to be tied up. (As far as large loose ends)

Still have to sell my Land Cruise, a large utility trailer and my Mother's furniture. Those are the big things...Rest of the things I'm giving away to friends and relatives...

So I think we should be ready to leave in January or February... May even surprise myself and get out of here earlier...

E-GADS! Well...... Hopefully Carter and I will be here. It would be a shame if you showed up here for a party, and we were in the Caribbean....

We're here for you especially if you are coming through Washington. If you don't plan on seeing us, you'll have terrible pangs of remorse! Let us know when you are coming through.

If you're coasting north and planing to take the inland passage, we'll be a natural stop. Keep us posted.

Well if Maine is in the journey plans, surely Mystic CT might be considered. A lot of us could meet you there.:D I guess it's too early to announce dates and estimated travel times.

I will have to get cracking on my "project" Spinner. ;)

Dear JD. Don't know about Maine yet. We'd love to meet you and as many others as possible before heading south.

David is thinking of maybe flying to meet us in PA. and spending a week with us before flying back to Alaska...

.

I look forward with anticipation to seeing your "project" when done.

...and as Cass would say....You rock...;):D

Stop by in Vancouver, BC. If it's the right weekend we can visit our local SASS event. Or take the dinghy out. Or go to dinner. Or sit around and shoot the breeze.

Thanks for the nice offer. Will keep it in mind...

I'll have to start to look at the map to see where everyone is and at some point start planning the route...

You'd better do two things! The first being to get yourselves a bit North. No excuse. The second thing(s), in Pennsylvania, is to visit my bunch of greats back grandfather's bell. OK, so it ain't actually his bell, but he got it out of Philly when the Brits occupied Philly in 1777. The second is to visit Gettysburg. You could even stop by my grandparents house - that's where I slept in a president's bedroom. OK, so he wasn't really the president when he slept there, but neither was Washington when he slept in a lot of places that brag 'Washington slept here'.

You'll have a blast. For sleeping arrangements, SWMBOjr has had really good luck 'Couch Surfing'. Google it.

Not only will we have plenty of lobster but it'll still be Maine Shrimp season. Not those big tough tasteless Gulf ones, real small tender flavorful northern ones. :D Come on up!

Well, now. :D:D

She's finally studying the map and realizing that 20% of us live north and east of Pittsburgh. :D:D:rolleyes:

3 or 4 of us on Cape Cod, too. Check it out, Spin. Lots of fun here, too!
