It's going to go almost to fifty F. today. They're saying up to fifty mile an hour gusts out of the South, SW. That's a lot of wind. I hope one of these fairly mature white pines doesn't give in and crash into the house. It would fall right over my bed. Yikes!

I'm at the extreme south end of that same storm system. Tornadic weather here today. Its 70, with high wind and heavy rain at times.

Cold as hell here and damp to boot. The kind of cold that makes my bones ache. I hope you yankees take this back real soon. After scanning the first page here this is the only topic I found to be of any interest.

Really bad here, I have doors and windows open and it might get down to the mid 60's tonight:eek: earlier we hit a really bone chilling 78 and that miserable sun was shining:p

Had a big norther here last night, down to mid-twenties with 30-40 mph winds. I went to bed at 8 PM, got up at 1:30 and stoked the woodstoves till 5 AM. Went back to bed and slept till 9 AM, got up and stoked the stoves.
I don't like cold weather but it beats the hell outta July and August around here.

We got some icing here last night. Son came home early and on his way witnesses some guy in a P/U pass him in a 35mph zone at about seventy. He lost it on the first corner and hit the trees bouncing and flipping across the road. Not much left and no one on scene could tell if he was alive for the blood. Must have been a drunk as I cannot believe someone would be dumb enough to drive that fast in those conditions.

It didn't last long, Gary. One nice thing you count on during transitional seasons here is that forecasts out past about 24 hrs. are wrong. ;) It's not the fault of our forecasters, there's a lot going on here, both atmospheric and oceanic.

They're calling for ice here, maybe major. I hope not. My kero supply for the auxiliary heater is low, so if the power goes down because of an inch of ice I could be screwed.

Ah, Maine winter. :)

Stormy and warm yesterday, rainy and cold today. No varnishing. No puttering about with boats. Just watching movies, reading, and eating, with sleeping dogs at my feet everywhere I go. Not that bad a way to spend some time.

It's snowing in South Louisiana. Here's what I woke up to... a rare site around these parts.
