A friend who died about a month ago had a passion for boats of historic interest, boats he sailed on, and some friends boats. Here are a few of his drawings--with apologies for my poor reproduction.

No need for appologies. But the death of your friend is, indeed, a great loss to the world of marine art.

He sailed and got married on the first, Malibar Vi; sailed with his wife on their NY32 (the illustration is actually one he did of our boat); and once owned Stubbie, the Cape Cod catboat. I think he did more than a hundred drawings of Great Lakes ships like the Lady Elgin. His day job was doing artwork for GM, such as cutaway illustrations of new cars. You did not win many classic yacht trivia arguments with the guy.

Sorry about your loss but his art will live on.

Very well done. Some marine artists understand art but not marine water craft, but not your friend.
