Mystic does not have plans for Mimi II, or his design No. 1870, which is talked about at length in Richard Henderson's book. They have but one plate of the boat. Are there any other sources that I could check for a complete set of plans or are we all destined to say goodbye to this great-looking design? Suggestions for similar craft, built in the classic fashion (This is not intended to spur a debate with those who wish to argue that plywood, strip planking, or laminations are fully just as classic as anything else.) would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about the Rhodes.
Pomelion is a lovely design and has a better cabin arrangement to my (jaundiced) eye: http://tinyurl.com/6mn7hc
There was a WB article about her. Designed by Marjorie Wolff, Starling Burgess' assistant draftsman, companion and last wife.
Try the South Street Seaport in NY and the Philadelphia Maritime Museum. PR, as with other designers like Starling Burgess, worked out of a number of offices in his career and his plans were somewhat dispersed

They have something about her, I wonder what that is. I don't have that book- what is design #1870?

Mystic has one plate, basically a single image. The design was initially built and named Mimi II. She is a 24 LOA keel sloop with a small cuddy; verl low headroom- just enough to sit out a shower or have your tea.

McCurdy & Rhodes may have some of the plans that haven't been sent to Mystic.

I took a quick look at the MIMI II entry in the book and remember liking her design quite a bit. MAID OF ENDOR seems like the prettiest alternative for which there are plans, although she's not a Rhodes design - http://www.boat-links.com/Atkinco/Sail/MaidOfEndor.html.
You already mentioned traditional construction, but Rhodes' MERIDIAN (http://www.sailboatdata.com/VIEWRECORD.ASP?CLASS_ID=416) and OUTLAW (http://www.sailboatdata.com/VIEWRECORD.ASP?CLASS_ID=436) designs are reasonably comparable designs in fiberglass. That won't help if building a boat or having a wooden boat is your primary goal, but they are similar designs from Rhodes.
If you are really wed to the design, the book offers enough to get a naval architect to reproduce her shape and provide you with a construction plan, interior, and rig tailored to your preferences. With patience and study you may well be able to accomplish the same thing.
