Donn- you are the man! What did I do wrong? I thought that I followed you instructions properly?
Matt
Matt...all I did was add jpg to the end of each URL, and a slash (/) to the ending image tag.

I am a little sunburned- I guess that's the price you pay...
Just for argument sake- who would call it a wood boat, and who would call it fiberglass? I call it both. ;)

You call it what you want. I've never seen a fiberglass boat that looked that good, though, so I'll call it wood.

Garrett-
To compensate for the glass, I made everything else from various wood- air vents, hinges, cleats, steering wheel, cutwater, dash- everything. Probably thirty species all told...

Ohh, gorgeous!
When I was a kid I spent time on a lake in Michigan most summers. One of my favorite ways to goof off was to poke around in the sheds at the local marina. There was a triple cockpit Chris that must have been from the twenties. Seperate spark and throttle levers, green leather, tufted upolstery, etc. I never got a look inside the engine compartment.
It was very Gatsby-esq. It was there for years, never seeing the water, and became a kind of pilgrimage several times a summer.
We had, to me at the time, a stodgy Sea Skiff. This was before the wooden boat revival. I'll bet that triple cockpit could have been had for a song. One summer, it was just gone.

Ish- I did the rolled and tucked leather upholstery- I was worried about having leather in the boat, but most of the old ones had leather, and it looks and feels great- plus it not living outdoors.
Scott- thanks- feels absolutely great! I had it out this weekend and one of my neighbors stopped me and said I looked like a little kid with a new toy. I think that pretty much covers it! All the more so since it is a toy I built. Only help I had was turning it over and from the folks here on the forum. Wife swept and dusted the house a whole lot more...

Very cool
What motor(s)? Is it a badass hi-lift & buckets of overlap cam that gives it that lumpy Harley exhaust note?
mhoffman

Fuel injected 350 (fresh-water cooled, 330 hp)- its the dual, 4in diameter, wet exhaust that gives it that lumpy noise!

It is no overstatement to say that the project would have been significantly more difficult without the assistance and inspiration of the folks on this forum. My sincere thanks. smile.gif
Just wondering what the next project should be...

Man, that's so pretty it hurts the eyes!
as for wood or not wood.... it depends on what other boats you're among. I'm guessing that 98% of the time you'll be the woody-est thing around.
