Just stumbled across this new boatbuilding school in Auckland:

Looks like a worthwhile course— although pretty blokey. Not a girl in the lot, which surprises me, given the number of students in the first class. Quite a few keen women sailors around Auckland and the North Shore.

What d'ya wanna do. Build boats or meet girls?

I'm on a CYA committee with a couple of those guys.
They're all a good bunch of highly motivated people with really deep links into NZ boating and boat building ,both historically and currently.
They have certification now, the school is running in the black and they have weight and impetus to succeed.
I could go on for an hour.

Wouldn't mind a bit of both. I've worked on cattle ranches with women, climbed difficult rock with women, and run whitewater with women— and have learned a great lot (about ingenuity vs. brute force) from them in the process.

Besides, you'd likely meet a better class of girl in a boatbuilding course than lolling about the pub. At least you'd have something to talk about. . .

Do you know if they accept international students?

Do you know if they accept international students?

Probably. The application form (last pages, here)

http://www.boatbuilding.school.nz/Courses/ATBSProspectus.pdf

suggests 'Yes'.

Given that we're largely a country of immigrants, it'd be rude not to.

You'd have to make in past customs of course.
Pretty tough...Its a bit like Nanna asking how the exams went and if you've been a good boy.

Man, if this store were in California somewhere, all my problems would be solved, well at least the finding stuff I need for this job, problems.

John B. How come I get Email notification of your last post. Not worried about it at all. Just puzzled
