Have two masts to repair-previous owner had wooded them wrapped in plasticand then sold boat.Ididn't unwrap fast enough and there's some delamination. The masts are oval in sectionand built up of multiple sections, probably of spruce. they are 40 years old. Contemplated repair is to bore medium hole, attach Very Powerful shopvac and suck epoxy into partial glueline separations. Tried to post this earlier, guess Iboofed it up. Any other suggestions?

Chris: I'm think everyone's afraid to touch this one. Drawing the glue into the open voids sounds good if you can get the vacuum. The scary part is the weak but not open bonds. In the end you'll have to decide whether you've got a good enough repair.

Ahoy Chris,
For my thoughts, please check your post of April 3 on delaminating mast. I do not think the vacuum suck approach will work.
