Okay, I've reached that point where I must paint the kids OPTI and I've read over a bunch of the old threads. In years past I've used Interlux 2 part over glass/epoxy and it held up well. Went on great-no problemo. I've heard some horror stories and my gut instinct is telling me that any problems most likely have to do w/ poor surface prep. IE not sanding/amine blush or other contaminant present.

So, before I dip brush into the primer, any words of wisdom? Oh, and to make things interesting, after I prime and finish coat w/ bright white, the kids want to "splatter paint" the boat. I figure for the little bit of wear the boat is actually going to see, I'll dig out every can of leftover latex house paint I have and let em go at it!
Thanks guys (and ladies), wouldn't want to offend Margo et al!

Dave, are these horror stories you've heard likely to give your kids nightmares?

Test a small area and if the paint dries in a reasonable amount of time and appears to be sticking well you should be all set...
