    Pink Blue Gray...

There's a guy in town selling off used insulating board, 1" x 2' x 8' for $4.00 a sheet. I'd like to get some to get more insulation in a crawl space. The stuff is gray which I'm not familiar with. Does anybody know what this stuff is made of, whether it's got any off-gassing issues, or what the R value is compared to the Pink and Blue boards?

3/4" blue is rated at R4

It's hard to say, but it could be urea-formaldahyde, which has an R value of 4.2 per inch. If it is, I'd avoid it. The stuff has a poor history. There's no hint printed on it?

I said the Heck with it after I started considering that I might be bringing home molds or whatever that could have been on these basement stored panels. If I took time cleaning them, then the deal price isn't much of a deal...
