View Full Version : Finished Winter Canoe Project
Here's a couple of photos of my winter canoe project - (at least one winter tongue.gif ). It is a 1970's vintage Chestnut Canoe Co., Prospector. It needed a few ribs, some planking, new canvas, filler, paint and varnish.
Leaving for a canoe trip soon. Hopefully, I won't find the leaks then

Fitz, Looks very nice, reminds me of the days back at Scout Camp teaching rowing and canoeing with wood/canvas canoes.
I have been reading a book on building from scratch a main guide canoe, just building the forms is like building a boat, but I want to do it, now just have to finish my current project.
Enjoy your trip....

What a work of art. And such functional art!!!!! I love it. Enjoy the canoe trip.
I just got back from christening the relaunched Prospector on the waters of the West Branch of the Penobscot in Maine.
What a joy to paddle!
