About 20 trees fell over our driveway, last night. But we're warm and the internet just came back.

But you're in Canada -- that frozen wilderness somewhere up North :D

Ugh! Great vista, but could you remove the snow, please?

Whatja mean frozen. The snow is melting even as I type. You can pretty much see the lawn furniture. Hell, the birds have even managed to drill through the snow/ice covering the bird feeder.

Clearly Burce has sickly trees.

That's the boy's job, but I'll pass your request to him. :D

A couple of spots north and west of NYC got up to 14" of wet snow last night. We got 1.8" of rain. I love the bay!

I hear it's guitar building season up your way. ;)

Clearly Burce has sickly trees.

Black spruce, mostly -- and the budworm has probably weakened them. A couple of big yellow birch came down, too.

During the Great Ice Storm we had a couple of trees over the driveway, but nothing like this. Must have been the wind.

I had to take the guitar stuff off the bench 'cause my nine-year-old is building a foosball game. :)

There certainly was a wind and I can see spruce falling, they do it all the time at the cottage, damn pests. Yellow birch though?

A foosball tutorial would be o.k., too.

We had our first snowfall last night, on the southern skirts of the storm that hit you and upstate NY. Just enough to cover the ground, it has melted away for the most part.

It is lousy here in Portland. Rain all day with gusts of winds up to 50 mph. You wouldn't want to come here. No way. No how.

We are concluding one of the warmest, sunniest Octobers I have witnessed in my 30+ years here. I have yet to turn on the heat. The apprehension is that I know we will pay for this in due time.

Winnipeg should have a team and they are talking about having a second one in Toronto. No justice.

You'll have a long wait if you do. The game isn't until tomorrow evening, 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. I hope to be watching on TV.

In Canada, I would guess that it is not long until ice fishing season. I love fishing, but I don't understand ice fishing.

My son-in-law is on the Penguins coaching staff so we're big Pens fans too. They play the Phoenix Coyotes (formerly the Winnipeg Jets, sorry Orca) in their fancy new arena tonight so we're all headed out for the game.

I'll be wearing my #44, Brooks Orpik jersey.

Not bad form for a defenseman.

It's all about the beer.

Well, that's confusing.

My printed schedule and the Penguins web site (http://penguins.nhl.com/) both say the game is Thursday, 10/30.

As to ice fishing, I don't need an excuse to drink beer.

Just imagine how embarrassed you would have been if you and your friends had shown up 24 hours early. ;) :D

He, he. I understand that London, England had its first snow fall this time of year in a long time. Seventy years.

Getting to the global warming crew, I think over the next decade or so they are going to have a difficult time of it. I can't put my finger on the science, but the world is going to get colder over the rest of my lifetime.
