Anybody interested in a few of these. We are culling our collections with the move. Free, I'll pay post. First in best dressed, send me a pm, otherwise the Charity shop.

Post some photos Jeff. I'm not looking for any (others here can comment on the clutter at my place!) - but I have some amazing 100 year old ones here. Absolutely amazing.

Can't post pics Ian, or recieve most of them now either. I must ask Dunc to email me the pix he took or I'll never see them.
(Nice dinghy upstairs Ian, I am considering finding a cadet to restore.)

Jeff, I'd like to have a couple that would be suitable for framing. Something nice to put out with all the Christmas stuff. Our family really likes to do the old-fashioned look for the holidays so something like that would go along great. No need for you to pay post.
Thanks for considering,

Doug
Oops-Just realized I was supposed to PM- easily fixed.

Cards gone, to botebum. Glad to find a good home for them. When you frame them preserve the inscriptions on the back, I find that the most interesting part of them. One is inscribed to; Mrs B. H. Vail, 169 Harrison Avenus, Jersey City, New Jersey.
post mark Dec 24, 1907. Another to a Miss A Jeffrey, my G.Gma's cousin.
Enjoy.

I thought you had more than two. Just give me one and send the other to someone else that would enjoy it. Thanks Jeff.

Anyone know anything about the history of substituting "X" for Christ in Xmas? I guess I'm surprised it dates back that far.

According to this (http://www.crivoice.org/symbols/xmasorigin.html) it was widely used by the 15th century. I found it odd too and had already Googled it.
