I swear I read a thread on finishing the inside of a centerboard trunk that dealt with products and techniques less than a month ago. I've spent all morning reading back through the threads and I've tried the search feature. Anyone else remember this? Any search terms I might use?

I remember that thread as well but could not find it by using the search feature either.
If I recall it seems that some people said that you could line the inside of the case with some high pressure laminate epoxied in place.
I just finnished the inside of the one I built using three coats of cpes and three coats of Marine enamel (Kirbys).
I cpes'd and painted all the parts plywood, head logs etc.
Once everything had dried I screwed everything back together using bedding compound (Vulkem 921). Then Bedded and bolted the case in place.
I'm still in the construction phase of the boat so I don't know how well it will hold up.
Seems that using high pressure laminate might be a good way to go if you take in to account the added thickness of the laminate when building the case.

Hope this helps

Sam Devlin (in his Stitch and Glue book) recommends lining a CB case with a melamine laminate. Perhaps that's what you were thinking of.

Yeah, that thread on laminate is the one I was looking for. Not that I want to use laminate, but I thought it mentioned paint. Darryl's info is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
