Late summer adventures on Barnegat Bay:

Hard aground sport fisherman visible just to the right of the catboat mast.

I can hear it now,"There's the Bridge, just steer for those lights. Swan Point's around here somewhere" Photo taken last weekend. Grounding happened in the wee hours; no further details available yet. Boat removed quickly.

Lovely catboat, huh?

Two words: Slow Down!

Very pretty catboat.....I would have missed the sportfishing boat....it looks just like modern architecture.

She was built by a boat building school but I'm not sure which one. She's very traditional, with a low cabin and a workboat finish. Until a few years ago she had a grown pine mast; after failing it was replaced with one from a Marshall 22. I'll find out more. Interesting owner too.

Here's another pic of the Irene Tansy

I'll see if I have any better ones.

Here's pretty good profile. She sure does improve the view. Barnegat Bay is beyond the marsh to the south.

Swan Point, NC is a great place for going aground also..we've had a few close ones there, and always see several aground in the turn north of the marina...baad place, methinks
