I am looking for a model to replace my old REVELL plastic Cutty Sark model on the mantel. (That's her in the avatar) It's a largeish model. I can't recall the scale. I've learnt alot about the ship in the 15 or so years since I built the model not to mention the fact that I've moved a couple of times and she's getting a little shaby to display and I would love to build a wooden model of her, Also largeish in size. I'm looking at something between 36 and 48 inches I guess. The old one was 36 inches from the cranse iron (bowsprite end fitting) to the tip of the spanker boom. Any ideas?
Thanks
You could always donate the money to the (questionably) real one

I have my doubts about that project. Now if a suitable benefactor was interested I would build a full scale replica but I don't know anyone with that kind of money so, what I'm looking for is a model that is acurate in scale and detail. I'd be happy with a plastic kit if I could find one large enough that it won't look lost on my mantel but have always wanted to build a wooden one. I don't really want to spen the time crafting each indivitual part so a kit is definitely in order.
Here is a nice model kit. Not cheap.
