I just found out that the glitter on Scooter's face(fifth picture this thread (http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83687) is fingernail polish. Babywipes won't get it off. I'm not big on rubbing acetone on the kid's face. Any suggestions? Please!?

It will wear off in less than 3 months. Six months tops.

Apologize early and often to their mother.

Hurry. Go buy flowers. Tell her you love her. A lot. Smile.

It'll be a funny story in eight to 10 years.

I have consulted with the nail polish and glitter enthusiast in this house and she says "Oh, it'll just wear off, don't worry about it" then she went into a slightly more technical explanation, something to do with skin cells and how long they last.
What she was quite keen on was "nail polish security" apparently the application of a second coat is undesirable.
:rolleyes::)

Duct tape over fingernail polish. Rip fast and hard, like a band-aid.

Don't you dare

I've just realized we're all thinking in the wrong direction.
Don't try and remove it...Camouflage it!
Dirt would work but you may need something more sophisticated like facepaint.
:)

Too late......so sorry.
I can't believe the WBF babysitters club failed you.

Bit of fine wet and dry might do the trick.
On reflection maybe not, groveling maybe?

Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret to fathering. Screw up so bad, just once, that their mom will never, ever leave you alone with the kids again. Since your little episode didn't involve trips to the emergency room, stitches, antibiotic therapy, etc. you did good.

C'mon, this is the WoodenBoat Forum. You DO HAVE SANDPAPER don't you!!

80 grit should do the trick.

I once tried "Hey! Who left the glitter fingernail polish out where [kid name] could get into it?! Look what happened!"

Didn't work for me.

Hot steamy shower...she sweats, pores open, paint peels off......unless you use the same stuff I do to conceal part numbers on electronics...then you're screwed, blued and tattooed.

I see a lot of stuff on her face, but can't tell from the photo was part is glitter (nail polish).
Just remind Tonya that in the greater scheme of things that this is a minor issue and not even worthy of further comment. Try explaining to your wife how you lost your kid at the Toronto International Auto show (don't ask me how I know about this:D).

No, I think a heat gun and paint scraper is the way to go.

OK, too late, but, for future reference, the camoflage was a good call. If you were quick on your feet, you would suddenly organize a face-painting party! How fun! Now, the kid looks like Hello Kitty.

Leave the kid with a full bottle of the sparkle nail polish, and, when she's under Mom's care, instruct her to use it.

Well Captain Blight, I was wondering what you looked like. I rather wish I didn't know.

Hey Doug - I'd make sure you stow the superglue better than the nail polish.
