I'm making a copy of a 5,2 x 1,85 m clinker hull. Trying to get a picture in this message. Hope it works.

Mikael,
Looks good but this is how it works around here, we need lots of pictures. Also what design is it. You might try a sony imagstation. I think they make it hard to post pics here so they are not deluged with them. Good luck and keep us updated.

I think I got it! A few more pictures taken today. I started building the boat in September and hope to launch in June. The drawing is of how I intend the boat to be.

The planking is 10 mm pine marine plywood. It's my third project. The first two were smaller sailing boats.

I love those clinker built boats. smile.gif I'm restoring a 16ft. 1961 Lyman. It looks like this but this isn't my boat.

Mine is made from Douglas Fir and Mahogany plywood with some solid White Oak frames.
Looking forward to hearing more about your project Mikael. ;)

The boat looks great and there is quite a resemblance to the hull of my boat. Here is a picture of the boat I'm copying.

Mikael... interesting design and great work your doing... love the temporary building shed!!
I tend to find shutterfly.com is way better than imagestation... faster uploads and rarely do you get the dreaded "you are tryin to access a picture outside of imagestation" or the equally dreaded little red x...
Great stuff!! your from Sweden? so... wheres the snow???? :D

Wow.
Very nice.
Did you design the boat yourself?

I measured the hull of that boat and the rest is my design.

With the bow decking on the Lyman that space is pretty much wasted except for storage. I really like the walk through windshield with the open bow on your design. I use to have a fiberglass boat with that design and it's great fun to ride up front and feel the spray in your face. :D How do you compensate for the stiffness you will lose by not having bow decking?

I will have four bulkheads from the windshield and forward, and the seats will be fixed. Plus the coaming and the deck. I hope and think it will be strong and stiff enough.
