Just completed in Oslo yesterday. Maxim Loguntenko won this year's Europeans by a comfortable margin over fellow Russian and club member Dmitry Berezkin. Tommy Mueller of Germany wound up in third, but the next three places were all taken by sailors from Moscow and the Pirogovo YC! I have never heard of such a thing, with five teams representing one club finishing in the top six of an event like this.

The Russians have been knocking at the door for some time now but this is their first big win of the modern era. They continue to show up in big numbers at the most important events and show improvement. Congratulations on a job well done to the guys from Moscow.

In an aside, class powerhouses Lars Hendriksen and Markus Wieser were both sailing Ukranian flagged Dragons but both withdrew after the first race of the series. Strange. Also, Jan Soderberg of Sweden once again represented the United States with his 'Pearl of Aspen', USA311. I understand that Jan owns a home in Colorado. We are happy to have him show the flag, and he finished a very fine 18th overall.
