From time to time I have seen boats with a Saab diesel that has an integral continuously variable propeller. Any idea if these are still being made, a good source, or other manufacturers? CV props seem to be mostly made for larger vessels and are very expensive. Saab made a nice compact complete solution for the smaller sailboat and fishing boat.
Thanks, jay

With even less moving parts and possible for the crafty homebuilder - the amazing Kitchen Rudder. Have read that the British Navy used it on launches until the late 60s/early 70s

Jay;
You want the Norwegian guys, Sabb, not the Swedish guys, Saab.
Sabb still build small CP (controllable pitch) units, which are very reasonably priced. Another builder of small CP units is Hundestad in Denmark, again small, manual control units are reasonably priced.
All the best, Tad

Tad, Thanks for the info on Saab. I go to their website and am unable to read it due to Norwegian text. Any idea if they have a dealer in US?
Thanks, jay
