I am looking for any web site where I can get a diagram depicting the parts of a carvel planked wooden boat.
I am fed up of my boat building friends using a different language!

Call WoodenBoat. They have just such a diagram - I've seen it in a couple places. They may even have it on a poster.

Oh. I just remembered. There's a copy of that diagram in one of the WB designs books - Thirty, Forty or Fifty.

Be forewarned - there are different names in different places for the same parts! ;)

Check out the Coast Guard's NVIC 7-95 (http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g%2Dm/nvic/7%5F95/n7%2D95.htm). It's got a few good diagrams.
