Aw geez. Take a look at the frontispiece of www.sailinganarchy.com today.

Sickening to look upon. I hate to beat this same poor horse over and over, but these things didn't happen when the metre boats were the creme of the crop. As a matter of fact, there are probably a hundred different metre and square metre boats of different sizes sailing in the Baltic this summer that have reached their 70th birthdays. How many of these million dollar babys (the TP's and the Farr40's, etc.) do you think will be around 25 years from now, let alone 75.

I am all for innovation, but I am also all for boats that don't break apart and endanger their crew, at a tremendous waste of money.

That's a 90' tall mast. Wonder how she came to rest almost perfectly upright?

Yep. Hard to watch. :(

It may be their own support boat, but you gotta admire the gronicles of the guy trying to wedge what must be 50k worth of RIB under the boat

Kudos to the owner for the abandon ship call...

Sailing on that level is not for the faint of heart or wallet.

On a positive note. They will be able to raise her.

I wonder why they didn't put the inflatable bags inside to displace water?

JimProbably didn't have time, besides that the deck is probably so lightly constructed on those boats that it wouldn't support the weight of the keel and hull with failing.

Everyone of us started on square one--a totally blank page, so no worries, Rooster.
