An ovarian cyst suddenly grew to the size of a grapefruit, like a balloon inflating with blood, and they had to make a hole big enough to remove it in the middle of the night. :(:(:(

I'm thankful for the love and community that surrounds us and cares for us in times of need. All will be well.

Give her my best. I had enough problems with three separate holes no bigger than an inch... I can't imagine a grapefruit.

Do NOT let her overdo it during her recovery, no matter how good she feels.

For me, riding in the car was the worst thing.

After the doc sez it's good......have it double checked......and when they tell you that it's allright......have it checked a third time......even when the cyst is removed, it may look successful and then a new one can happen literally in the same place.....triple check everything.

I did (just) make it to church this morning after I talked to you, and the congregation on this end was praying for her. (The lady who is recovering from ovarian cancer was especially fervent, and had me rub her fuzzy head for luck!) Get some rest yourself, and tell Sara I said "happy birthday from the cat," er, "get well soon." Don't forget to send me that e-mail!

That happened to Kris the year she graduated HS. About a year before we met. And while she's spent some time looking over her shoulder, it never reoccurred and we ended up with two kids the docs said we probably shouldn't have been able to conceive.

Rule no. 1. Not all bad things that happen end up being bad.

Rule no. 2. Scientists know a heck of a lot less for certain than they sound like they do when talking.

All best wishes from us both!

I just got a PM asking how Sara was doing.

She was discharged Sunday afternoon and went to stay with her mother for a few days. Her mom's house has everything she needs in a stair-free environment. I was over there yesterday and she was starting to get restless, which I take as a good sign. She can now walk a whole 100 feet at a quarter mile per hour. Recovery will take time, but she should be more or less back in form by mid-September, and back to work in about three weeks.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.

I just spoke to Sara and read several of your messages to her. She thanks you all, and is doing her best to heal quickly and well. She's still fighting some pain (and an upset stomach from some of the meds) but all in all she sounds great.
