Rumors at this years show were that we are back in Mystic again next year. Certainly no complaints from me. Has anyone heard for sure?

Thanks, Mark

WOO HOO Shazam TA DA! EBS at Lefty's; wild porch parties at the Whaler's Inn; wooden boats!

Um, er... I mean, that sounds like a nice idea ... :D

Mystic... now, start thinking in advance about accommodations!

Groton and the other surrounding towns are a heck of a lot cheaper than Mystic proper, and I think that's going to be a major consideration for all of us (not travelling by boat, that is) for next year. Of course, if travelling is very much more expensive, Mystic's prices may drop a bit just to attract more "flies"...

In about a week, I'll post the motel names I recommend for clean, cheap (relatively) accommodations and youse can take it from there.

It'd be worth it though for the look on Scot's face right now as he realizes that he now has to get us our own dock :D

For those of us outsiders what does "EBS" signify. WBS seems obvious but please help me.

EBS is speak here for "elbow bending session." Beer and skittles and companionship en masse......a party!

Makes sense, as it's the right place for the show. I think holding it on the west coast, much as I'd love to see it here, wouldn't work as well for the organizers.

The high priests of the Church of Milo insist it be Mystic. "Next year in Newport"? Apostasy!

Lew, I looked it up and it's about 7000 miles from Seattle to Mystic via the Panama Canal. At 10 knots hull speed, cruising 6 hours a day to leave time for port stops, heck, you could leave Seattle on Rita on March 15 and be in Mystic in time for the WBS.

Paul, I'd love to do the Great Loop, someday. We'll come south via Tenn Tom and pick you up. :D

(Actually 3 or 4 guys in my club have done various routes. Great stories...)

I think that by next year I could possibly take the Northwest Passage, which could be ice free and open by then, avoid the possibility of Pirates off the coast of Belize, and only have to deal with the impact of the rise in the Canadian dollar!

WBS was an expensive excursion for us, but a fine one. It sucks to be back in the saddle, and putting long pants and socks on again.

They are great! I saw a gal that I think may work for Wooden Boat that seemed to have access to the various demonstrations behind the people stoppers taking pictures..

Seeing the great pictures brings back the weekend time and time again.. Got to give Wooden Boat a great big slap on the back..

Do you have to attend the divorce proceedings...
I hear that is scheduled for the WBS weekend...

So.. to get on the calender. EBS on Airlie Thurs. or Friday night.. will be parked at the same watering hole.

I believe the photographer for that slide show was Michele Corbeil, the Ad Director for WoodenBoat. She did a great job of capturing some of the feeling of the show.
