This is Ray Sargeants Runabout in frame. Stations just set up and the engine stringers glued in. Everything coated in epoxy as we go with some components (like transom) being fully stained and epoxy finished before assemble. www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid173/p5a0e77886e90026ea325eb5bb8012e17/f3b6ece8.jpg This pix is building jig in shop. Will post more once I figger this out.

success, diggy dam. will try some others. This shot last frame and transom, note transom is inverted AND curved, very sexy. Engine stringers are 8 plys 1/4 oukoume, bored out this section to save a little weight.

Dale---
Bring up your imagestation photo.
Right click on it.
Go to properties, and highlight the web address by dragging the mouse over it on a left click.
When it's all highlighted, put the mouse just above the highlighted address (in the middle) and right click.
Now left click on "copy."
Paste this into your WBF post bewteen and .
You should then have a good photo on your post...
Alan
P.S. Good boat... :D

this last shot- it it comes thruu shows a very unique feature Ray thought of. The whole jig with boat pivots 180 degrees on these 1"steel dowels which set on a heavy jack stand. see next pix

Dale: the address line should look exactly like this but without the star in the "img" bracket, and the space after the "sraid".
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid 173/p5a0e77886e90026ea325eb5bb8012e17/f3b6ece8.jpg
All of your imagestation URLs will be identical from the "www.-" to the "/sraid", the unique image reference follows, and all will end with ".jpg"

Damn Paul-how would anyone know that? Where is that rule written? with all that gobbledegook who notices there is a space between sraid and 173?
still trying [IMG]www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid173/pad2e45a9db5292024bef896ee562e076/f3b6d979.jpg.

ok what was wrong with that one? no little star, no space?
imagestation.com/picture/sraid173/p6c67d16533cbde3b257ec90f1d6a79fb/f3b6de4a.jpg.
I noticed a little "thu" attached to the end after jpg which I eliminated

Dale: You need the http:// after the image-start bracket, and you need the image-end bracket. You're closer than you think smile.gif

The reason I put in the star was so that the post wouldn't link to the pic, and defeat my illustration.
The reason for the space was so that the long URL wouldn't "blow up" the post, (i.e make it extra wide).

maybe a different pix
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid173/p43dbe154b7b78d55ba91848d3043cdf1/f3b6d3b8.jpg
Maybe I'm getting there. This shows the turning dowel in place in a pillow block. Its one inch steel that will rest on a heavy jackstand. see next: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid173/p0448f0d706d932ad60a9e8c802fda54f/f3b6f23b.jpg
Jackstand needs to be elevated so jig clears floor. This was Ray Sargents idea not mine- I just built mine a little better that his. Idead on stitch and glue when you need to get inside and filet.
Thanks guys for your patience. I made notes so will add mor pix as I progress. Yes clean shop. Part of our work ethic.

Dale: You are so very, very close. The reason for the "temporarily unavailable" is the period after the jpg.

damn- thanks again Paul, roger the period after the jpeg. How do you find out about all these arcane rules? Imagestation is no help- you can't even reach them- and its not on their list of FAQ.
I guess I'm the only one in the world who does not know this stuff.

Dale, you are not alone. Imagestation baffles me too. Otherwise I would post pix too.
Regarding the pivots; Are they calculated for balance when the hull is filled in? I would have thought that they should be 2/3 up from the keel roughly. I was working on an idea like yours but the plan was to use a couple of engine stands coupled together.

Hi, Everyone,
I have yet to figure out how to post pics in posts, but my son taught me how to get pics on line and get them set up so people can view them easily. It works thru Web Shots it is free for up to 250 pics or if you get more filed, then there is a modest fee of $2.50. I will admit that I have learned a lot reading all the info in this thread, and may try some thru imagestation. Here is the whole link for my pics which will take you to Web Shots to view as well as get the info to set up. This show my progress on my Whitehall, not wanting to steal your thunder Dale, just showing a different and easy way to show your pics and let others have access to your entire sets.

Ion & WD- Not my idea- it was Ray Sargent's who designed the runabout. And yes, location of pivots is calculated (by Ray). Yes this would certainly work with larger boats, albeit I would use welded steel uprights and base. They make car turnerovers so you can turn a whole big car over. I think with a sticch and glue project where you have alot of filets to make as you go, it will be damn nice to flip the boat over. I'll keep you guys updated as I go with more pix.
