The nandinia in front of the house are blooming, lotsa bumblebees and lo and behold, some honeybees.
I'd ut the hummingbird feeders up early this year (we are usually visited in late April by a few regulars, who make it known that they want it NOW) and just this last week saw my first.
Spring is finally here, just as summer starts.

Our hummers came by one day in May, saw the feeders weren't up, and haven't been back since, even though the feeders went up less than an hour later... They'll be back eventually I'm sure.... No honey bees :(

I see a few weak hypothermic bees crawling around on the deck trying to soak up some heat when the sun's out once in a while, and that's about it. The hummers must be a little less bothered by the cold, I see a few most every day..
