Condolences. I know from my own mother that Altheimers has very diverse manifestations and that aging is not for the feint of heart. Your life celebrates both your parents most fittingly.

My mother's obituary can be viewed at <http://www.struveandlaporte.com>. Click on the tab for obituaries, and you will see her name.

A video with music honoring my mother is viewable at <http://montereyjohn.com/Misc_Vids/Christine.wmv>.

Not only was my mother proud of her Norwegian heritage, but so was my father. He enjoyed attending Norwegian festival events. When he died people were very surprised to learn that he was not Norwegian.

They both shared a love of the sea and sailing. Mother was the better sailor but never let anyone know about it.

Whenever an interviewer wanted to include information about her in an article about my father, she was adamant that there be no references to her. She wanted nothing to detract from publicity about my father. Mother was an integral part of the family business but neither wanted nor needed any recognition for her role.

When it came time for a permanent memorial for my father's grave, she picked out the stone and demanded that I design the headstone according to her directives. She was my father's greatest and most loyal fan of his work.
