That is the Argosy and she is well and truly for sale. You'll need some cash and a bit of talent, but she could do ya. That last shot was taken at Bell Street. Where'd you get them pics Chuck?

By the way, little Patamar, with the green coach top on Argosy's stbd. is "immortalized" as the boat my family spent a night on when Rita sprung a fuel tank up in BC.

Oh, congratulations Dan.

Lew....A long time ago....after the owner, Rick Etsell,an architect I believe, had finished restoring Argosy, I had seen the drawing of her.....I was really flush with cash in the sense that I needed a new "legal home" to invest my "home cash" into....Argosy wasn't for sale. But the owner sent me the pictures. I had seriously considered having a duplicate built in Thailand, using a single in line diesel, another foot of beam, do it strip planked and cold moulded, 3 layers of xynole over, teak decks, ash and rosewood inside, use the aft cabin as guest quarters/office. I had the lapstrake 9 1/2 foot dink built just for that purpose...t'was to be my old/creaky/retirement boat before I done got runover and had a heart attack...beautiful boat. The extra foot of beam carried forward made for a really nice main cabin, beautiful head, a second cabin with a 3/4 berth below and a single above, nice entrance into engine room with a built in laundry/ freezer area....had it worked out for the wheel house to have a berth for the captain and a head topsides.......I spent a lot of time on the drawings....I even drew a small fantail 38 foot version for a single old phart as a live aboard.....

Jaimie/Dan....apologies for the thread drift.....

I would have to scan then to be able to load them onto photobucket and my scanner is temporarily down....they also need reducing which means I would have to take them to a blueprint shop...which at the moment is a bit difficult for me..

here's a partial that I worked from..

THAT'S what we've been waiting for!
(And I'm not talking about your shoulder)
Wow, a double masters and a Unitarian minister. Brains and beauty.
I'm somehow reminded of the old joke - "It's a strange and beautiful relationship - he's strange and she's beautiful."

Speaking of strange... she knows you hang out down here? She knows about the Bilge Rat thing? Your imaginary friends?

:) Congrats to you both. :)

Chuck, the Argosy looks a lot like the yacht Manhattan I see on the river all the time...

I have the feeling you have a very strong woman there...
