since work began on my house last month, I have been leaving doors open for workmen to come and go as needed. This has resulted in a house finch building a nest almost directly over my computer...now I hear small chirping. They are about 30 inches over my head and about 18-20 inches back. It in a shelf I face as I sit down to type...it has been interesting so far

Had that happen as well. A pair of Carolina wrens moved into the kitchen as C'dog never learned to shut the door..
Just a few weeks and they will be outta there.

I once thought about removing the nest but there were already eggs and I didn't want to kill them...I don't look foward to cleaning up bird poop from my desk though

Move your desk.

no place to move it to during re-constgruction...anyway, it's nice to watch my little family. The clean-up is little enough to pay for the privilage

Eggs are OK to remove as far as I'm concerned, but I found a swallow's nest in Grantala last breeding season - after they'd hatched. I ended up with heaps of you know what before they departed. I hate closing the boat up, so have had to fit mesh to all openings.... I had a feeling they were building, I just didn't find it in time.

I take it this is Bigfella's boat? What that big screw suppose to be holding that MISSED the 2x or was it suppose to miss? Will it leak?

How many Goonie birds in that nest ? Looks like 4 or 5 heads and/ or beaks!

Just glass or new glass in "new" frames?

You should have just routed out the old rotten wood frames :D and let in the new glass:rolleyes:

Nothing of any consequence. Temporary hold down at a guess. Will be removed, drilled out, filled with epoxy mix and then the right-size screw like about a gazillion others. Not too many penetrations though! That's all 1938 Spotted Gum there except for the new deck and deck beam.
