I have. Started dropping hints before my anniversery hoping that maybe it would happen than, but no such luck. So I keep dropping hints.

All I want is a pair of sunglasses, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Paradise Titanium Elite. Light as a feather, good looking, wrap around lenses and top quality construction.

The add (http://www.backcountry.com/store/MAU0048/Maui-Jim-Paradise-Sunglasses.html?CMP_ID=SH_FRO001&CMP_SKU=MAU0048&mv_pc=r126)

I'm too cheap to come off the dough myself, so I keep dropping hints. Maybe at they will at least offer to split the difference. :D

As an alternate I will take the Maui Jim South Shore. A little bit less expensive.

Wish me luck. ;)

I've been dropping hints that a new Finn would be pretty cool, but I don't think that it's sunk in yet. I'll usually get what I always get: a trip to nice restaurant where I pay the bill. But, it's very nice to get everyone together and I should at least see all the kids this weekend.

My wife and I like to watch the old Hercule Poirot "Mystery" series on video. I gave her a DVD on Mother's day, and last night we watched the last episode. I commented, "It is a good thing Father's day is coming up." She said, "I was thinking the same thing."

I got me a new diesel generator. Well, new to me, its got 2,400 hours on it, but its reputed to run, which my current generator does not do. Its a Fischer-Panda.

Yeah, I've been dropping hints about a Delta Unisaw for years.

I think I'm still going to be looking at Construction paper, glue, crayon and hand or foot-prints. ;) Quite frankly, I'll be darned happy with whatever it is, too!

Sun glasses or 75 gallons of gas. Which to chose.

That I am a father seems to be enough for me.

I got a necktie made out of glue, fabric scraps, construction paper and magic marker one year for Father's Day. I told my daughter I loved it and would wear it, so the next day I put it on with its elastic neckband and wore it to work. I got a lot of weird looks until I explained I'd promised to wear it, so there it was. I wish all promises were so easy to keep!

I'm a sentimental old coot, so I still have the darn thing.

Yep, that's the kinda think I'm thinking of! :)

cs ---

I have fun everyday. No need for a special day to remember things.

---

Two weeks ago my granddaughter spent the day at our house making cookies with her grandmother - like they always do, and playing dolls with me - like we often do.

My granddaughter started the summer "College for Kids" program last week - 6 hours a day 4 days a week. She enjoys taking a lunch box to school. She is looking forward to school this fall - she gets to ride the school bus.

My other granddaughter will be visiting for a couple weeks in July. I expect to put in lots of zoo time.

Both my kids and my wife run their lives well.

I don't need a few special days each year to have fun.

Just wondering. You seem so serious all the time.

No one else circles stuff in Lee Valley catalogs and leaves them around the house in strategic locations? ;)

At my age I don't want any more "things". It's time to get rid of stuff. I'd prefer gift givers donate to a charity.:)

Got a funny card from my daughter and her husband:
http://i30.tinypic.com/296ddnl.jpg
The caption inside reads "Or Ah'll gut you lak a feeyusch!", a phrase they overheard between two Grand Manan Islanders during a diner dispute while on their honeymoon.

It became the theme of the week: "You'd better drive more slowly... or 'Ah'll gut you lak a feeyusch!' "

I've got a dear sweet wife who puts up with an awful lot in me, a stepson who grew up well and married a wonderful girl, and a fantastic grandson. Father's Day is just another Hallmark Holiday; nuts to that, I've got the good things year round.

I'm sending David to Margo's for the weekend. There is a Fathers Day Regatta on Sunday and a practice run on Saturday. He will then bring Allie home with him on Sunday night.

That makes two of us. All this stuff I have don't mean a thing.

I am putting my first wooden boat in the water on fathers day, and if my two boys can find the time to attend and say somethintg kind that would be worth more than anything money could buy.

My second wish is that the boat doesn't sink now that I've invited over 20 people to look at what is basically a poorly constructed floatable bookcase.

We all know that Father's Day and Mother's Day and all those "___" days are actually Hallmark Days, but we also know that they are still going to get us something.

And nothing says "I love you" more than top quality eye protection.

Are you telling me that top quality eye protection says 'I love you' more than a Lee Valley low angle block plane? Yikes! Must be a Southern Thing. ;)

It's kinda like high quality H2O, the right time and the right place. And besides everybody knows that low angle block planes are birthday presents and not Father's day presents. Jeez do I gotta teach you everythiing? ;)
