So I've been thinking ...

Like all of a sudden (well, really not that sudden, like 8 years of work and all), but like all of a sudden I have a sailboat :D ...

And since I have tons of friends and wonderful folks here in St. Augustine and on the WBF that have followed the story and have encouraged and helped me with SARAH :) ...

And since several of the Florida WBF folk aren't going to be able to make it to the boat show ...

And since next weekend is probably too soon to plan and the following weekend is Father's Day ...

.

.

.

You are all invited to go Sailing with Sarah June 21st and 22nd. I'll plan to take the boat out both days and we'll cookout here at the house the evening of the 21st!

So ...

You've got three weeks to figure out a way to get away for a day, an afternoon, or a few hours. Whatever applies.

Come one, come all. Let's go Sailing with Sarah!!! :):)

Oh yeah, and I'll score like a bazillion points in the WBF sailing challenge :p

Hi Margo,

Paul and I would love to take you up on your offer. We might be able to swing it too. We both start our vacations on June 6 through June 30.

If we can't make it we would like to propose a virtual BBQ. We will go to the cockpit of Weatherly, a sister ship to your Sara, which as they are blood relatives will count toward your efforts in the challenge. We can post pictures and, through the magic of Photoshop, I will splice you into the shots and place Weatherly on the waters of the Florida coast. Steven will never know.:p

By the way-- we were unable to attend the launch of Jan's Buzzard's Bay 30. Weather got too nasty up here to make the drive to Vermont. :(

Sharon:D

I suppose if I can get a tow, from Puget Sound and over the mountains to the Missouri river in Montana, then row as hard as I can downriver, get portaged at Great Falls, then row hard some more, take right turn at the Mississippi River, row like mad downriver somemore, then run the Gulf Florida coast ...that better be a good party!

(dont laugh...it's been done.)

So there's no one within a few hour radius that wants to go sailing???? :(

Well for me I have a very high fever from the OPEC flu.;) But overall, the forum seems to be moving away from serious boat folks. Real to life boat threads seem to garnish fewer responses. But please do not be dismayed. There are us that will pester you if we are in your area. Also let it be known that there are folks that also think about the kindship that has been garnished from your spunk and spirit. We just live in a different day and time, here. :( my .02 opinion.

Oh - and I don't mean that in a ready to cast-off kind of way :D

I meant what time could you use help?

David and I will be there both days.:D

Allan - You should send some little bit of S/V Laura Ellen and that way she can get used to the feel of things underway. Said item to be returned just prior to your launching. :)

Ross - If you and your bride are coming up Saturday, how about noon? I have it from a reliable source that Claudia and David are driving over, so that'll give everyone time to get here without having to get up at the butt-crack of dawn ;)

Unless anyone strongly objects, we'll leave the dock around noon or shortly thereafter, tour the San Sebastian River, Intracoastal, St. Augustine bayfront, and Bridge of Lions construction zone , get in a little sailing, have light appetizers accompanied by wine & champagne, take lots of photos to post here and show everyone what they're missing, and maybe fire off a cannon shot (or three ;)).

I'll be cooking out at the house Saturday night.

Sunday's schedule is open to suggestion. :)

We'd love to come but I think we'll wait until after our season in Maine is over. It's a little shorter than yours, doncha know. :)

Noon it is - we'll bring the bubbly. Please let me know what else we can do or bring to help out.

David and I will be there both days.:D

If someone promised to wear a yellow polka dot bikini, Shane may decide to make an appearance.

BTW, it won't be me.

Yup, but you are docked just down the way about 1,000 miles... It is a pretty ride though.

I will look forward to vicariously and virtual sailing with you through the many pictures I will hope to see here on the WBF on the 23rd or 24th. Hope y'all have a loverly couple of days!

Yep, I'll be there in spirit too. Have another one towards the end of Summer and I'll see if I can get a flight down.

I want to hear all the details while bending elbows in Mystic! (you are going right?)

Mary's heading down to Orlando Thursday for a Pediatric Dialysis Conference. But she won't have a car or enough time, I don't think. I'll be here keeping an eye on Talisman's pumps. :) I'm thinking the fall would be a good time for us to visit Sarah.

And this, Boss, could be the reason why people are reluctant to take you up on your offer! :D ;) :D
