Can you be a bit more specific?
Is there a particular bronze windlass that you need a manual for? Do you have a name for this document?
Have you tried eBay and other online merchants -- a lot of paper documents are resold on the Internet.

Check out eBay - go to eBaymotors, Boats,(sailing hardware if you can find the category) then search for the keyword "bronze".

Those aren't what he is looking for, Thorne. He is looking for a bronze ANCHOR windlass. Unfortunately, there are very few such items available in the marketplace. You might try Davey and Co., London, and Toplicht, Hamburg, or Lunenberg Foundry in Nova Scotia. Beyond that, you will be limited to finding a second hand windlass from a knacker's yard. Bronze windlasses were always a very "top end" item to begin with. Worth looking for, but hard to find and pricey when found.
Port Townsend Foundry in Port Townsend WA does offer a traditional single action bronze windlass that would go well on your Taliesin cutter:

Ummm...Thorne, those are winches not windlasses. I just did an eBay search for "bronze windlass" and did get one hit. It looks like it may be the ABI model.
Boatdoc, first off, ALL CAPS is considered "yelling" on the Internet and is generally frowned on.
Second, what is wrong with the ABI windlass? Is it looks or price or...?
My first thought was http://www.toplicht.de , but they only seem to heve white (electric) and galvanized windlasses. In case you want to check out what they have, the term I think you want to search on is "Ankerwinde." Put that in the search box on the right side of the screen and you should see what I saw.
Edited to add...I got sidetracked while I was working on my post and others beat me to some of what I said...

Her is an anchor windlass that was on ebay a bit ago. Simpson Laurance high speed 510 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4591492001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT) I'm not sure if it's bronze or not, perhaps another of the members of this very knowledgable crowd will. Is that what you had in mind?

The Pardey's have one on Taleisin. It was discontinued several years ago, so finding a used one somewhere is your only option.

These guys are in Richmond, BC, and carry the Victory line... imported from Taiwan, I think.
Ocean Marine (http://www.oceanmarinesystems.com/victory%20catalog/Victory%20Traditional.htm)
Their bronze windlass is on page 11...it's only a single speed. I have one almost identical to this on my 30' Alden sloop. It's been foolproof and bulletproof.
I've also seen the same windlass, or one very similar, at All Bay Marine in Sidney...maybe it was the ABI model. You never did say why you didn't like the ABI...

I have the exact same abi windlass. Brand new...sitting in my back room. Was going to put it on my sailboat, but changed my mind. Think I'll put it up for sale

For a great bronze windlass, take a look at Ideal Windlass, located in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. I have had one on my boat for about 5 years and it has worked perfectly. The website is: http://www.idealwindlass.com/
