View Full Version : Hocked myself again, 2.5 acres

Bought it last saturday, if the vendor who is ill can be persuaded to sign the papers. Light bush in a shallow gully with two small mostly dry creeks converging. Can build a small wier if I want. 100ft lock-up ag. shed with 2 phase power and water, house built to lock up with most of the timber required to finish but no connections yet. 15 car bodies and associated junk that vendor has to clear or loose a bond. They are worth cash as scrap and the dealer will pick up.
I think we might live at this one, about half a mile from the water and a ramp.
This should keep me out of the pub eh? That's it mostly for this week, dentist tomorrow, then we'll see if the weather allows some boating.

Watch out for that 2 phase power, I hear it can be an off and on thing.
Whereabouts is the land....Victoria? North, South, East or West?
Not to far Sth....it gets very damp.

On Western Port Bay, SE of Melbourne, just up the hill from the present beach house which is a bit suburban for us to live in. The way the weather's been down here the damper the better. We've done better than most districts in that department. Heaps of undercover room for boats and cars. Dial up 'Grantville' and find a map. See ya next week.

Well done Jeff. A Big Shed with most of a house, eh? And room to move. Sounds like paradise to me. Hope it all falls into place.

Sounds fabulous.

Now - before you tow those cars away - tell us what's there!

Congratulations. Sounds sort of what we did, though we just had an old AMC Gremlin and a rusted out tractor to haul off.

Buying land is a good idea. I am thinking seriously about spreading my place out a bit.

Watch out for those "Mostly dry creeks"..... Remember what happened to Dingo's "Mostly dry creek"....;)

That's very true. Has anyone ever marked off the high water mark for the property? I was lucky in that just before we built down here we had two separate '500 year' floods. I put a paint mark on a couple of trees to give us an idea of where to place the house.
