It used to be a darker blue, but got blasted to a lighter shade at speed.

Looks like someone has been copying stuff from Aston Martin

The color looks like the only safe thing about that lovely vehicle

It is a new Aston. They do a fine job of capturing their past I think. Perhaps better than any other car company these days, even better than Porsche.

I just drove past a new model Holden ( GMH)painted with one of those refracting metallics and it was lilac/ purple.:( The colour of this smilie but with major tonal changes as the light alters.
One more reason to lessen my relationship with the 'marque'. I think GMH and Ford AU design departments must have been infiltrated by bogans and boy racers.

There's one of those purple ones in the Highway Patrol over at Blacktown. I've spotted him a few times. Ghastly eh?

As for the Fix Or Repair Daily mob (FORD) - I actually laughed out loud a month or so when one of their "sporty" ones pulled up behind me at the lights - bling bling wheels (standard) that reflected big sunlight flashes, go fast stripes and bulges everywhere. "Look at me, .... look at me". Still, the more of them out there, the less chance of me getting spotted.

Damn Paul...I thought that was a rice grinder that you've been googling after.....I just thought they did a damn good job of ripping off Aston Martin......

and both HSV and FPV designers must have grown up glued to the TV watching the Lone Ranger.. what is with the masked man look?

I thought this park light treatment was bad enough on the Holden

But now Ford goes and copies and develops it.

Oh dear - that's seriously ugly eh?

Damn things are getting quick off the line though. I can still out-corner them, but can't touch them off the line. I'm starting to think seriously about bigger brakes too.

Speaking of cornering - I've just fitted a set of staggered rims to the M5 - 8" front and 9" rear - as fitted to the later E34 M5 models, fitted with "R spec" semi-slick tyres. I got into it around a nice sweeper that I've been known to do some serious drifting on - and they stuck like baby poo to a blanket.

They're all quick all right, but they're out of touch. Where's the DOD? They're selling a 6 litre motor across a domestic range in 2008 and no valve technology. Stupid.

How do those semi slick things go in the rain?. Do you get rain?;)

I drove it in the rain the other day but had the wife on board. It wasn't worth it to find out the limits.

Yeah that's the perfect color.

It will hide drool much better than a darker color or a metallic.
